A mother should be provided with support and extra care at this time. Since mothers can feel tired when transitioning to motherhood, care and support are needed, especially with the many responsibilities she is faced with. When her needs are neglected, she may experience problems. The mother should be in a calm and quiet environment. Her room ought to be tidy and quiet. Also, a daily massage will keep her feeling fresh and relaxed.

The diet should be monitored. Fresh food needs to be provided. Food preparation is an important aspect when it comes to mother and baby care. A mother should be provided with fresh food every day. This is because fresh meals have high nutrition value and can be easily and quickly digested providing enough nourishment for recovery and will ensure that the baby rests well. Eating leftovers is discouraged in this kind of treatment. People around should ensure that you are given fresh meals as you will not be in a position of preparing it.

Belly wrapping is a traditional technique which helps the body of a mother to fill in all the empty spaces and to restore the muscles and organs to their appropriate places. Immediately after labor, wrapping the stomach helps to remove any leftover chord parts. It also helps to bring back the shape of the belly without having to worry about sagging and floppy skin. A long piece of cloth that is comfortable must be used.

The baby should be massaged. Using warmed herbal oil in massaging the body of a baby makes them comfortable. In addition, it can prevent colic and help in resting peacefully. The birthing process which they undergo is not easy and adjusting to new environments can be hard. Massaging should be done for about twenty minutes so that the bond between the baby and parent can be strengthened. It also prevents the baby from getting too fussy.

You need to rest enough. Sleeping is very important during this time. Whenever your baby is sleeping, you also need to consider sleeping. Sleep improves your mood, immune system, metabolism, and memory. If you are feeling depressed, you need to seek a professionals help for you to get better without harming yourself or your baby.

It is important that you include herbs in your daily diet. They help in supporting your diet not forgetting recovery. Before taking the herbs, you should talk to your doctor first to ensure that it is safe. Fenugreek seeds, fennel, cumin, will greatly help in digestion and support lactation. They should be boiled in water before taken.

Ensure that you stay inside the house at all times and avoid many visitors. The first twenty-one days are crucial, and the baby needs to be cared for by only the parents and the helper. Visitors coming should only be immediate family. During such a time, the mother and baby are sensitive, and therefore the individuals you make contact with should have good intentions. Also, many guests may make you tired.
